The Hurunui Water Project (HWP) has conducted a great deal of research into the possibilities of water storage and irrigation, and the environmental, recreational and economic effects. Much of this information went into the application for resource consent at Environment Canterbury. If you would like a copy of the CD with all this information please contact the HWP office. May 2011, Several technical reports have been completed for use by the Hurunui Waiau Zone Committee. You are welcome to download these studies below. Be aware some reports are up to 5MB in size.
March 2011, Hurunui Biodiversity launched. Research is currently underway and an update on this biodiversity initiative is expected before the middle of the year.

June 2008, "Hurunui Irrigation and Power Trust Best Practices agreement". HIPT has developed a draft best practices agreement, which farmers will need to sign up to if they want water from the Project.
